“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” – Jesus
It’s so clear that Jesus valued and esteemed children in his ministry and our goal is to follow his example. However, we know that it can be daunting to bring your children with you when you are visiting a new place! We hope to provide some details about what is available for children at our services and how we are working to ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere for kids!
What to expect
When you come in the door, we invite you to make your way to the Connections Hub where you can check in for children’s ministry. One of our friendly Check In team members will be there to assist you. Each child will receive a stick on label with their name, your phone number, and a code printed on it. You will receive a label with the same code printed on it. This code will need to presented when you pick up your child from children’s ministry. We do this to ensure that only you or someone you approve of is picking up your child after the service. The phone number on the child’s label ensures that our children’s ministry workers can contact you during the service if need be.
After you’re checked in, you can make your way into the sanctuary for worship. At this point your children will stay with you as we welcome children of all ages to join us in the sanctuary during the worship time.
After worship, we’ll have announcements and then release children 3rd grade and under to children’s ministry. We ask that you accompany your child until they are settled in at the children’s ministry area in the church basement. Children older than 3rd grade are invited to remain with the adults in the sanctuary for the rest of the service.
There is also a nursing mother’s room located just next to the sanctuary entrance that can be accessed at any time during the service.
Children’s Ministry Team
We love children and consider them a top priority here at Branch Community, where we make sure they are well cared for in a loving, safe, and fun-filled environment. The mission of our Children’s Ministry is to partner with parents to help children know & grow in Christ. Our goal is for children to have a genuine relationship with the Lord, build their lives on Him, make friends, and love being at church! We offer classes for toddlers through 3rd grade. All of our teachers and helpers have current background checks and clearances.
Danicka Martin, Children’s Ministry Team Leader
Since we launched as a church in 2020, we’ve had a growing awareness that it is on the Father’s heart to raise up churches who will address the issue of sexual abuse both within the church and in the culture at large. We feel that we are called as a body of believers to be a part of God’s redemptive solution as opposed to ignoring a problem that has caused devastating harm for individuals, families, and congregations.
As a result of this call we seek to bring awareness, implement preventative measures, and provide pathways of redemptive healing and restoration for those who have been harmed by abuse. This is specified in our Child Protection Policy which can be viewed by clicking the link. A Child Protection Committee is appointed by the elder team to ensure that the policy is being implemented.
